Chief Design Officer (CDO)

Product and Design
Department Mission
  • Drive technical product design development from a user experience, user interface, and usability standpoint
  • Design to meet and ease user needs from as UI, displays, or logos to user experience and more.
Role
  • The role is titled to drive technical product design development from a user experience, user interface, and usability standpoint. You will work side-by-side with the other team in Product and Engineering to provide direction and recommendations on design and development execution of product/service. You will create designs, draw wireframes and fabricate prototypes to check customer's feedback for later improvement.
Authority
  • Define product visual, UX and branding
  • Interview, hire and train staff members
  • Research and test new technologies
  • Monitoring and Oversee company's data
  • Cooperating with outside agencies
  • Oversee final layouts
  • Oversee UI/UX design strategy
Responsibility
  • Own projects throughout the entire design cycle, from the UX/UI design to the actual development
  • Gather user needs/feedback through research methods such as observations, interviews, and usability testing, and translate these findings into design solutions and refinements
  • Set design processes
  • Initiate create designs to increase user engagement and conversion rate
  • Create process flows, wireframes, and visual design mockups for our clients
  • Supervise, mentor and motivate the UX/UI team to refine and build design system, share user research, and identify design solutions
  • Partner with engineers and product owners to provide value through designing the interactions, interface, and functionality of our products
  • Educate the team and stakeholders about the importance of design thinking and the importance of user research
  • Keep up-to-date on design trends and look to make process and UX improvements
  • Collect all business requirements from the client during kickoff, collaborating to define an MVP
  • Work with Business Development and Product Managers to define the design scope of a project
  • Be the main design liaison between the client and the design team
Requirements
  • Earned design related degree
  • 8+ years of working experience on UX/UI or product design and developing flows and wireframes,
  • 3+ years of senior management in design-oriented startups
  • Solving complex experiences and making them intuitive to the user
  • Solid knowledge of best practices in design and architecture
  • Strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques
  • Strong understanding of iOS and Android design principles
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Invision or Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Ability to lead a team and gain stakeholder confidence
  • Experience mentoring designers and leading the design on projects
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment is a plus
  • Rapid Prototyping experience
  • Capability to work on tight deadlines and under pressure
  • Analytical skills
  • Being creative, communicator and a self-starter, willingness to learn and have an over-delivery attitude
