Department Mission

Role
  • The role is to review films and offer your opinions on acting, writing , editing and film making, among other aspects. You need to provide readers with an analysis of the film and compare the plot and story line to similar films in the same genre.
Authority

  • Ordering and testing equipment.

Responsibility
  • In order to write a critical analysis, film critics usually take notes, outline their ideas and make a clear argument that is for or against a film and is based on an analysis of formal film devices.

  • Usually, film critics need insight into the film industry, working knowledge of film theory and terminology, and good communication skills and writing.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree, preferred or required by Internship Publications.
  • Freelance experience, or blog experience, is a plus; occasionally required.
